now we have been living with Corona for a whole year. The travel destinations of surfers are shifting, and those who recently planned a long-haul flight are now looking around Europe for good destinations.
Quite a few of our guests at the moment had planned to fly to Asia, Central America or Australia.
At the moment nobody can say when it will be possible to fly to such destinations again. Some countries do not yet allow tourists to enter or there are simply no flights to these destinations.
Fuerteventura and the other Canary Islands have remained one of the last year-round destinations that Europeans can still travel to. In the other European surfing destinations like France or Portugal it is now getting uncomfortably cold. Here on Fuerteventura, even in January and February, it is almost summery warm.
Just as the travel destinations change, so do the preferences of traveling surfers.
Surfers are looking for individual accommodations within walking distance of a surf spot
We surfers are not corona deniers but it is difficult for us not to see our beloved - the sea - for a long time. So many surfers also travel in Corona times. They do not endanger anyone, because here on Fuerteventura you spend most of the time in the fresh air in the sun on empty beaches.
As individual as the surfers' lifestyle are their accommodation requirements. It is important that a beach or surf spot is within walking distance, as well as tasteful furnishings, sea views, a balcony, a large terrace and a swimming pool.
Our surf villa at the west coast our family vacation home in the fishing village
We offer two different houses for surfers and surfing families. Our luxurious surf villa is located on the west coast in the small surf village of La Pared. Here all life is based on the waves and the tides. The villa is within walking distance of the small bay with its reef break "Bahia" and the main beach "El Viejo Rey". On the property of the villa there is a pool, a sauna, fireplace, pizza stone oven and various small apartments, bungalows and a studio.
Our family holiday home is located above the small port of the fishing village of Morro Jable. Here you have a wonderful sea view from the bedroom and the large terrace. The house is within walking distance of the beach and the center of Morro Jable with its tapas bars and fish restaurants. It's only 5 minutes by bike to the Cruz Roja surf spot.
