Best time to surf in Fuerteventura

When is the best time or season to go surfing in Fuerteventura?
An important question, because in Fuerteventura, it is warm summer all year round. This makes Fuerteventura one of the few year-round destinations for surfers in Europe. But in Fuerteventura there are seasons and according to these seasons, the waves and the wind change for us surfers.
 

Surfing in autumn in Fuerteventura

We start with the best. Fall in Fuerteventura is definitely the best time to surf. Everything is possible now. Powerful reef waves, gentle beach breaks and all this in moderate wind and partly tropical temperatures.

A shorty is enough :)

Unfortunately yes. In the meantime, it's no secret that autumn in Fuerteventura is a good time to surf. But no problem - we still know some empty line ups :)

What is the best time to surf Fuerteventura?
Of course the winter! Now the reefs are firing and the strong swells are laying around the island and conjure up light and clean picture-perfect waves on beaches that are otherwise known only to swimmers and snorkelers.

Disadvantage?
Well, if it's a downside that you now need a wetsuit with long legs, then yes. On shore, there are still short pants and flip flops!

Everything is possible in the spring, firing reefs, clean beach breaks and the insider tip: really good wind waves on beaches that are otherwise known for wind and kitesurfing. Spring is anything but a bad time to surf in Fuerteventura.
 

Surf in the summer in Fuerteventura

There is a widespread opinion about surfing in Fuerteventura in the summer, it would not be the best time. Well, it's not the best time to surf compared to other seasons. However, it is still far from bad compared to other destinations. There are always waves at our beach breaks. We never had to cancel a course, for lack of surf. Thanks to the steady trade winds, the east coast constantly produces clean little waves.

The Joker: Südswell! Yes, there is and it turns our home beach into a wordclass line up!

Fuerteventura is great for surfing and surfing all year round. With the seasons, the waves and the wind change and on different beaches of the island break according to the seasons different waves. But there are good waves for beginners and advanced in every season. Professionals should come in autumn and winter, then the best time to surf is on the reefs of Fuerteventura.
