With the purchase of the first own surfboard for surfing many surfers fulfill a first dream of surfing. It feels like you have arrived in the sport and is now a bit more of a convinced board athlete. Proudly you show friends and family the board, with which, unfortunately too often only a few can do something. Not infrequently, one remains a little alone with his enthusiasm.
No matter! Because if the board is right, then it will give the surfer so much fun and inspiring moments that you almost want to create parallels to the intimacy of a couple relationship. The initial infatuation becomes a trusting relationship.
But - before we get involved in too many associations here - the board should not just visually suit the user. For a beginner but also for many advanced surfers it is not easy to find the right surfboard.
An honest assessment of your own abilities is the basis for surfboard buying.
How long have I been surfing? How tall and heavy am I? How many times will I go surfing?
Those who realistically answer these questions have a good chance of finding their personal "magic board".
Important for beginners and advanced beginners, it is not too fast to buy a too small surfboard. Considered the last surf vacation in the retrospective, one estimates the own ability but often a bit more optimistic. Just as one consoles, that the time until the next surf trip will somehow pass very quickly. It is not uncommon to add a little bit of bacon and it takes some time on site to reach the old level of ability.
Add to that the unpredictability of nature. The waves were perfect last time? Luck! Unfortunately, that does not mean that happens from now on every surf vacation.
The future companion on your surf trips should therefore be a good-natured and reliable friend and not a discerning diva.
It's not that easy to link all of your natural and personal variables so that the right surfboard becomes your new gaming device at the end of the buying process. In our shop we have a useful tool to help you with this decision-making process.
