Corona test obligation when traveling to Fuerteventura for July 2021

Traveling to Fuerteventura is getting easier and easier
The number of flights to Fuerteventura is increasing almost weekly

The rules for entering and returning from Fuerteventura have been further simplified. A new update for the current test regulations for trips to Fuerteventura in July.

Hello surfer,
summer on Fuerteventura has started. We have nice people in our courses and our accommodations, the nights are warm and the sound of the waves accompanies us through the hot days.

If you force yourself not to read the news every day, you would think that everything is the same as it used to be in Fuerteventura. The mask requirement in the open air has been lifted and you can again sit under the starry sky with friends and acquaintances in beach cafes and tapas bars.

The progress with vaccinations in Europe and here on Fuerteventura make me confident that the corona pandemic will soon lose its horror.
It will probably take a while before you stop looking at incidences and new infections, but I think these numbers will continue to lose their informative value over the past year and a half in the coming weeks and months. With the increasing number of vaccinations there will still be diseases, but the Covid 19 disease will lose its horror if the vaccinated can catch a kind of strong cold at most.

The people around me whom I wanted to protect the most over the past year have now been fully vaccinated for months.

Just as life has changed on the European mainland and here on Fuerteventura, the rules for traveling to Fuerteventura are also changing.
Therefore, here is a small update for the current Corona test rules when entering Fuerteventura and the return journey.

Anyone flying from Germany does not need a test at the moment!

Thanks to the very low German incidence, travelers who come from Germany or who have stayed in Germany in the last 14 days before their flight do not need a corona test when traveling to Fuerteventura.

The Spanish government rates all countries with an incidence of more than 12 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants as risk areas. There are other countries whose incidence is below 12 and whose citizens therefore do not need a test when traveling to Spain and thus also to the Canary Islands.

You need a negative quick test to enter Fuerteventura!

Until a few weeks ago, you still needed a negative Corona PCR test to enter Spain. At the end of June, a normal antigen or corona rapid test is sufficient.
This test should not be older than 48 hours. In theory, you can even do the test at the airport shortly before departure. There are corresponding test centers in all airports.
Children under the age of 12 do not need to take a test.

Since June 7th, people who have been fully vaccinated with a vaccine recognized in the EU can also travel to Spain without a test. The yellow vaccination certificate or the vaccination certificate for the mobile phone serves as proof.
Those who have recovered from Corona can also travel to Spain without a test with appropriate proof.

You need a negative rapid test or you are vaccinated for the return journey to Germany

Many European countries have test regulations for the return of tourists by plane from abroad. In the case of Germany, all travelers over 6 years of age need a negative rapid test or antigen test. The test must not be older than 48 hours prior to departure.

All doctors in Fuerteventura carry out quick tests without any problems and without complications. You don't need an appointment, you can simply go to the practice. Of course, the doctors also issue the documents necessary for the airlines and immigration.

Holidaymakers who have been completely vaccinated against the Corona Virus can enter Germany normally without a negative test. This even applies to travel warnings and return journeys from high-incidence areas.

In addition, holidaymakers who have recovered from Corona can also travel to Germany with appropriate proof without a Corona test.

Conclusion

Traveling to Fuerteventura is getting easier. People over 12 years of age need an antigen or rapid test to enter the country. Tourists from countries with an incidence lower than 12 do not currently need to take a test at all to enter Spain. A quick test or proof of vaccination is sufficient for the return journey.
