Current rules for entering Fuerteventura for summer 2021 (update)

ready for vacation
Finally sun, sand and sea

The rules for entering Fuerteventura have been further simplified. Here is a short update on the current regulations.

Hello surfer,
Do you feel the same?
The constantly new good news in connection with the corona pandemic, the sustained positive development, the increasingly obvious old "normal" life - sometimes do not even seem real to me.
Just a few weeks ago you felt you had reached the point where you knew rationally that the pandemic would end at some point and your life would develop back to what it used to be, but the period since the pandemic determined life was like this long that one could hardly imagine emotionally what this ending would feel like.

Now you stand almost next to yourself and watch how quickly life is developing and almost want to shout out loud "Stop" or "Slow down", not out of frustration, but to pause for a moment and really enjoy the fact that with great Probably many long-missed freedoms will soon be part of everyday life again.

At this pace, of course, among many other things, the rules for entering Fuerteventura are also changing. The last blog article on this topic is less than two weeks old and now you have to write an update. I'm pretty sure it won't be the last.

To enter Fuerteventura you need a negative antigen or quik test or you are fully vaccinated

You do NOT need a negative PCR test a quik test is enough to enter Spain. This new regulation applies to the whole of Spain and thus also to the Canary Islands.

It is enough to do the test one day before departure. Alternatively, you can drive to the airport earlier and take the test there, because there are test centers at almost every airport that offer tests on site.

Since June 7th, people who have been fully vaccinated with a vaccine recognized in the EU can travel to Spain without the negative PCR.
Even if this does not affect the majority of holidaymakers at the beginning of June, more and more people will be able to benefit from this regulation in the course of the year. Thanks to the increasing vaccine deliveries and the accelerating vaccination rate across the European Union.
The yellow vaccination certificate is sufficient proof.

To travel back to many EU countries you need a negative quik test, have been vaccinated twice or have recovered from Corona.

Before returning you have to do a corona antigen (also called rapid test) for many EU countries. The test, i.e. the moment the sample is taken, must not be older than 48 hours from departure.
Vacationers from Switzerland need a PCR test again in order to be able to enter Switzerland. This test must not be older than 72 hours.

All doctors here on site carry out corona tests. Of course, the doctors also issue the documents necessary for the airlines and immigration.

Holidaymakers who have been fully vaccinated against the Corona Virus can enter Germany normally without a negative test.

In addition, holidaymakers who have recovered from Corona can also travel to Germany without a Corona test with appropriate proof.

Conclusion

Despite the lifted travel warning, there is still an obligation to test when entering Spain and when returning to the EU (and also to Switzerland). The entry is however since the 7.6. much easier, because now antigen or rapid tests are sufficient.
Fully vaccinated people (the number of whom will increase over the course of the year) do not need to be tested. Even those who have recovered from Corona (with appropriate evidence) no longer need to be tested.
