Paddle for waves with a SUP board

[Translate to English:]

There are many beaches in Fuerteventura where small waves break and where, as an advanced stand up paddler, you can make your first attempts in small waves.

Hello SUP surfer,

I still remember the first SUP surfers that I saw here in Fuerteventura, of course that was some (probably 15 or more) years ago. Back then I smiled at SUP surfing and thought that the paddle would hinder me in really good waves and restrict my freedom of movement.

At that time, my view of Stand Up Paddling was much too narrow, because I only thought about it from the perspective of the young wave-hungry surfer. As I got older, I only realized after I stood on the SUP of a friend what a great workout stand up paddling is. The combination of keeping balance and paddling not only strengthens the arm and shoulder muscles, but also many small muscles in the back area and the abdominal muscles.
One is almost surprised that SUP is not already prescribed by doctors.

What I could not have guessed either is the enormous variety (especially thanks to the inflatable SUP boards) in the places where a SUP is used. Today you can hardly see a bathing lake where there is not a stand up paddler.

Stand up paddling has become a popular sport

Stand up paddling has become a popular sport. As a result, a new type of stand up paddler has established itself in the last 10 years. It used to be adventurous surfers or windsurfers today it is normal, active people who mainly explore inland waters.
For many of these people, the stand up paddle board is an everyday piece of sports equipment similar to a bicycle.

For many of these sporty and ambitious stand up paddlers, who have previously mainly been in inland waters, stand up paddling in waves is a new exciting experience and for the SUP sport itself, it is almost a circle that closes, because the SUP returns to the place back to where it originated - into the sea and the waves.

Stand up paddle lessons for intermediate SUP surfers in gentle waves

Fuerteventura is known for its powerful waves. What many do not know - there are quite a few beaches with small clean waves, especially on the east coast here in the south of Fuerteventura.
We often take our surf students to these beaches where they can make their first attempts in unbroken “green” waves with large Malibu and longboards.

These beaches and especially their gentle waves are ideal for the first attempts with the SUP board in waves. With the help of the paddle you can get behind the breaking waves and then let yourself be carried back to land with the force of the ocean.
Just like the first SUP surfers in Hawaii.

... all this in turquoise-blue, warm, partly still shallow water - so under conditions that are manageable and easy for an inland SUP surfer.

Our SUP courses for advanced SUP surfers take place in small groups with a maximum of 4 SUP surfers per instructor. We will drive you to the beach on the east or south coast, which has the best conditions for the surfing level of our SUP surfers.

Conclusion

Small and clean waves often break on the many white beaches and bays in Fuerteventura's south east coast. Ideal for sporty SUP surfers who have previously only been in inland waters to learn to SUP surf in waves.
With our advanced courses, we drive to these beaches in small groups and teach SUP surfing in waves in simple learning steps.
