now it is the end of December. Normally you would now warm your hands together with friends on steaming mulled tea cups and talk about what to do on New Year's Eve.
This year everything is different, because if you want to warm yourself with tea, you unfortunately cannot do this in a happy group like in the past, but only at home alone. That saves money, but it doesn't make you happy.
Here, like a talk show host, I try to draw a bow, turn the pages of my index cards and say: "Speaking of saving money ... Speaking of what do you do in the winter holidays? Maybe a vacation in Fuerteventura with the money saved?"
Well, you really have to like to drink tea in order to save money compared to "normal" years, but it is nevertheless possible to escape the cold season and not warm your hands on hot cups, but your whole body the Canarian sun, for example in our surf camp by the sea - in our Alta Vista apartments.
12 cozy apartments just a few meters from the beach
The Alta Vista is located on the heights of the cliffs that begin next to Morro Jable beach. Right next to the Alta Vista is the church of Morro Jable, framed by palm trees, which can also be found on many postcard pictures of the place.
From here it is only a few meters to the beach and the small promenade with its fish restaurants and tapas from Morro Jable. The small beach of Morro Jable is one of the most picturesque beaches on the island and is also the destination for many boat trips. Here you can snorkel, stand up paddling with our SUP boards, relax and swim after surfing and have a delicious meal in the evening and end the day with friends with live music and a beer or wine.
The house was planned by Pepe and his wife Maria in 2002 and opened in 2003. Pepe and Maria have put their heart and soul into their apartment house for many years. The nice family atmosphere gives you the feeling of being in Spain with "real" locals and not in an anonymous hotel.
The next surf spot is only a few minutes away by bike
If you walk along the promenade that starts at Alta Vista, you come to the neighboring town of Jandia after crossing the large dune in Morro Jable. Here is one of the most famous surf spots in Fuerteventura - the Cruz Roja.
With trade winds, especially in summer, clean small waves break here, in which you can let off steam a little after the surf course until sunset. In the fall and winter, the big swells of the west coast bring long right waves to life. If this wave goes right it can take on some of Australia's east coast point breaks.
There are also more shops, bars and restaurants and a disco in Jandia to extend the evening until it gets light again.
Conclusion
If you want to experience a really authentic Spanish ambience and flair, the cozy fishing village of Morro Jable is the right place for you. Our guests here live in the Alta Vista apartment house (with 12 apartments) right by the sea. In the nice family atmosphere you get to know other people and in the evening you can end the day on the large roof terrace with a great sea view :)
