Surf camp over Christmas

The weather at Christmas is still summery in Fuerteventura
By bike to our home spot - there are often very good waves here, especially at Christmas

Of course, our surf camp is also open over Christmas. At Christmas it is still warm and summery in Fuerteventura.

Hohoho,
is it that time again?
Yes the time has come. Unfortunately, this year you don't notice the approaching Christmas season from the mulled wine stands, patio heaters and Christmas markets, but only from the chocolate Santa Clauses and gingerbread that have been increasing in supermarkets since October ...

Unfortunately, in many respects this Christmas will have little in common with the Christmas of recent years. Meetings with friends and even family are only allowed with some restrictions. Nice Christmas dinner in your favorite restaurant or the Christmas party with colleagues is no longer necessary.

Traveling within Europe is difficult and now even the ski season is in danger.
The Corona map is colored red across almost the entire European continent. One of the last gray spots is the Canary Islands.

The incidence of new infections across the archipelago is still well below 50 per 100,000 over 7 days.
There is also no longer a travel warning that would require you to go into quarantine after your return.

Why not celebrate Christmas under the palm trees?

The weather in Fuerteventura is still warm and summery at Christmas

In December the weather in Fuerteventura is still better than on many days in August on the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.
The air temperatures during the day are between 20 and 25 degrees. At night it doesn't get colder than 16 to 17 degrees. So it is enough if you have a thick sweater or a light jacket with you.

The temperatures during the day feel even warmer in the Canarian sun. With statistical 5 rainy days per year, the sun almost always shines on Fuerteventura. So it's more than likely that you can lie on the beach and bathe in the sun at Christmas.
Speaking of swimming ... the water in Fuerteventura is still almost 20 degrees at Christmas. Bathing is also possible at Christmas.

Sunscreen, flip flops and shorts should therefore also be carried in your luggage to Fuerteventura at Christmas!

Surfing at Christmas in Fuerteventura

The waves at Christmas in Fuerteventura are among the best of the year. The home surfing spot of our apartments in Morro Jable can deliver waves at this time of year that can compete with the well-known point breaks in Australia.

At our home spot Cruz Roja there are often clean little waves to learn and practice. A couple of times a year this spot comes to life. Then right waves run over the sandbank in front of the lighthouse, some of which allow rides over more than 100m. Large winter swells from the western Atlantic make this possible.

I've ridden and seen some of my best waves in the Canary Islands at this beach point break. Quite a few of them for Christmas.
Does Santa Claus have a hand in this?

Conclusion

Our surf camp is also open for Christmas and of course we have nice guests in our apartments and in our surf courses. For us surfers, Christmas is also the festival of love and lights, but we prefer to celebrate it in the sun and with other surfers!
Aloha :)
