Of all winter months, February is the month in which winter is likely to be the longest. The normally happy pre-Christmas season is long gone. Often the snow has also melted, which usually falls at the beginning of January. The days are still short. Instead of snow, it rains and temperatures rarely reach double digits.
Before I get lost in the rather negative climatic characteristics of February in Central Europe, I have to add that February 2021 will unfortunately be even more bleak because of the expected restrictions due to the Corona Virus.
Sometimes you have the feeling that, despite all the optimism that you rightly associate with the year 2021, you really want to bring fate to the ground again, so that you really understand that before the path leads uphill, you have bottomed out must become.
I personally suspect that this trough will be February 2021.
But nobody said that you have to spend this most likely most depressing part of the new and promising year at home.
February is one of the best months for surfing in Fuerteventura
Autumn and winter in Fuerteventura are considered by surfers to be the best seasons for surfing on Fuerteventura.
Strong low pressure areas in the North Atlantic are constantly forming new waves, which then break thousands of kilometers further away on the coasts of Fuerteventura.
Not only advanced surfers get their money's worth. Thanks to the many different beaches, which all point in different directions, the waves of the same low pressure area on one side of the island can be big and strong for advanced surfers and on the other side they break small and clean for beginners.
With our surf courses we go to different beaches in the south of Fuerteventura every day depending on the wave and wind conditions and the surfing level of our surf students.

The air temperatures in February are usually slightly above the 20 degree mark. The water is around 18 degrees. It all feels much warmer in the sun. Since it only rains on Fuerteventura on statistical 5 days a year, the probability that it will be sunny throughout February is relatively high.
Conclusion
February is a great month for surfing in Fuerteventura, it is spring-like and sometimes warm as summer, the waves are definitely among the best of the year and you hardly have to share them with others. When are you coming?
