Deluxe surf camps or luxury surf camps - that sounds like a contradiction in terms. Because the word surfcamp implies the idea to spend the night in a tent. But that's not true. The word surf camp has not been describing a group of tents in a pine forest for a long time.
The term surf camp stands rather for a sense of community, for the (for us surfers) most beautiful thing in the world (of course surfing) to share with others and to experience in a group people.
Deluxe surf lessons in the surf camp
The accommodation may be the meeting place in a surf camp. The surf class or surfing together are the content and reason for the trip.
What can you expect from a surf lesson in a deluxe surf camp?
First of all, it is done with high quality surf material. Our surfboards are from the Australian brand Ocean & Earth. They have a soft foam top to prevent injury and a lightweight and sturdy epoxy core. Our neoprene suits are from Billabong and are renewed twice a year.
But the most important thing in a deluxe surf course is the personal attention given by the surf instructor. Small groups or direct private lessons with a private coach, which individually addresses their own wishes and learning progress.
Both are possible with us and we will gladly advise you which package is the right one.
Of course a bit of adventure has to be as well, our Land Rover SUVs with which we also reach beaches to which no other surf school comes.
Our surf villa is our deluxe surf camp
Of course, we also have a surf camp, which we call our OTRO MODO Deluxe Surf Camp - our surf villa in La Pared. The house stands on a 1000qm large property which is bounded by a natural stone wall. The building was designed and built in the early 1990s by the architect Fritz Junkermann and was used several times in various architectural newspapers. In the house you can follow the course of the sun all day thanks to extra glass slits between the walls and the ceilings and always have indirect daylight. The semi-circular structure encloses the terrace with sea view and fireplace. Under the terrace is the heart of the grounds of the large swimming pool. Next to the swimming pool is the sauna, yoga pedestal and rustic outdoor kitchens with pizza stone oven. There is also a Jacuzzi on the grounds with sea views.
Just a few minutes foot walk from the house is one of Fuerteventura's best known beaches for surfing. At the beach of La Pared, good waves break for beginners and advanced surfers all year round.
Our conclusion
To indulge in a little luxury on holiday, to be pampered and to choose a luxurious accommodation is nothing to be ashamed of. The money for such a holiday has been worked out the rest of the year.
