Working in a surf camp

meet nice people and work in the sun
We are looking for surf instructors to support our team all year round

Do you work where others go on vacation? There is a lot to do in a surf camp and we always need helping hands.

Hello surfer,
today is Monday and therefore the beginning of a new work week for most people. Most of the people I know, be it on Fuerteventura or on the European mainland, enjoy their job.

Of course there are days when you would rather stay in bed, when you feel overwhelmed by work and your colleagues feel annoyed.
In my circle of friends, most of them are not looking for another job, but rather a more pleasant way to get to work and, of course, from November onwards, a more pleasant way to end the day after work.

So just imagine your day doesn't start in a crowded bus or a draughty S-Bahn stop. You don't get stuck in traffic and don't have to run to miss the subway.
Instead, you walk down the street for a two minute walk past an open cafe, the sun rises, you see the sea.
When work is over, you just walk 200m and you can swim, relax, snorkel, SUP or surf on the beach ...

That's fine!
If you work where others go on vacation.

We are looking for seasonal surf instructors with a surf instructor and lifeguard license

In addition to our permanent team of surf instructors, we also always have surf instructors who support our team during the season. This is because of course more or less guests travel to Fuerteventura at different times of the year.
We have many families with children in the course, especially during the holiday periods.

Just like many families can only travel at certain times. There are also many surf instructors who only work seasonally because they are still studying or using their work as a surf instructor to travel and want to move on to the next place.

That is why we always have applications from seasonal surf instructors. It is important that our surf instructors have an internationally valid surf instructor training. This is only valid if you have a lifeguard license specifically for the sea. The normal lifeguard license is unfortunately not sufficient, as you do not acquire any knowledge of currents, waves, etc. with it.

Start as an intern in the surf camp

Most of the budding surfers and water rats who have just discovered surfing are of course not yet surf instructors. Just like you have to have lived by the sea for some time to get enough surfing routine to become a surf instructor.

You can work in a surf camp without a surf instructor license, for example as an office or beach assistant.

We have guests arriving and departing all year round. The flights to Fuerteventura land on different days of the week at different times. Of course, we would like to personally greet our guests when the team is on the beach.
In addition, we organize many activities after the surf course, which must also be organized in advance.

Nevertheless you still have enough time to go surfing yourself!

If you can surf a little, our surf instructors support you on the beach, for example with children's courses or video coaching, and thus collect the practical hours required for the surf instructor training.

Conclusion

Working in a surf camp means working where others go on vacation. The work can be monotonous or boring, but the great thing is that you are always in the sun by the sea and have nice people around you.
We are always looking for surf instructors and interns to support our permanent team, especially for the summer season but also for the school holidays. Of course, all of our employees receive a proper employment contract including all social security.
