You can also travel to Fuerteventura to the surf camp with a travel warning

Without sounding cynical - a travel warning is not a travel ban. A trip to Fuerteventura to the surf camp is very safe despite the travel warning.

Hello surfer,
Even if the teaser sounds cynical, it is not my intention to spread populist theses. I take the pandemic just as seriously as most other people and don't want to trivialize anything.
But yes - you can travel to Fuerteventura despite the travel warning. It's just as safe here as it was before the travel warning.
Therefore a fact right at the beginning to support my claim.
According to a survey by the German Robert Koch Institute (as of the end of September), the infection rate among those returning to Spain is just 0.26 percent.
That means all those returning from Spain, including the people who returned from the mainland, which was hit much harder by the pandemic.

The Canaries were far less affected by the pandemic from the start

In contrast to the greater Madrid area and Catalonia, the Canary Islands never had a comparatively high number of infected people.
The new infections that led to the travel warning at the beginning of September are largely due to infections in the capitals of the Canary Islands. Especially in Las Palmas, the capital of the neighboring island of Gran Canaria.

It looks similar in Fuerteventura, where most of the infected are in the capital Puerto del Rosario. A place that you only visit for official visits and that offers neither a cultural nor a scenic attraction for tourists.

The numbers have been falling since the second half of September and are now only a few meters from the 50 per 100,000 population, which is important for Germany. This trend continues and can be traced back to the intervention of the Spanish authorities.

Most of the new infections can be traced back to family celebrations and parties of young people, these are now controlled and sanctioned much more closely.

Here in the Canary Islands, where more or less every job depends directly or indirectly on tourism, the authorities are aware of what is at stake.

The hygiene standards in gastronomy are high and the beaches are empty

As already written at the beginning, almost no tourists were infected while on vacation in Spain. This is due to the high hygiene standards in Spain's gastronomy and, above all, to the fact that the places visited by tourists never have particularly high numbers of infected people.

Especially on Fuerteventura, thanks to the endless secluded beaches, it is safer than in some major German cities.
Here, too, you can rent holiday homes and fincas in addition to your normal hotel holiday. So you have your own house near a dream beach, such as our surf villa on the well-known surfing beach of La Pared.

The major tour operators are also following the general development on the travel market. TUI will be offering trips and flights to the Canary Islands again from October (despite the travel warning). The reasons for this are the now comparatively low numbers of infected people, the few infections measured among those returning to Spain and the high safety and hygiene standards in the Canary Islands.

Tip: So that you do not have to go to the quarantine required (e.g. for Germany), you can do an internationally recognized COVID 19 test here with the German doctor Karola Simoni.
The test costs between 50 and 65 € and the result is after max. 36 hours ago.

Conclusion

Yes! ... you can fly to the Canary Islands despite the travel warning and spend a safe holiday here. The number of new infections is only slightly above the critical value for Germany of 50 per 100,000. In some cases, the numbers are already lower.
The beaches are empty and arguably the best place for "social distancing" you can imagine. Even large tour operators like Tui will be flying to the Canaries again from October.
