Information for our guests in the family holiday home

Dear Guest,

welcome at OTRO MODO surf school in the fishing village of Morro Jable!
The family holiday home belongs to a family with two children, who live in Fuerteventura for most of the year. During the Spanish school holidays, the family rents their house to guests of the OTRO MODO surf school.
The family decided not to remove all of the books and pictures in order to preserve the personal character of the house. Quite a few of the pictures, books and paintings have an emotional value. All rooms can be used, only the children's room is closed.

Please treat the house as you would treat your own home.
Since the house has neighbors, please make sure to stop loud conversations and music after 10 p.m.

The opening times of our office are:
Mon - Fri: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Sa: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Sun: closed

Here you can rent surfboards, SUPs, skateboards and beach cruiser bikes. You can get our bikes for a fee of € 7 per day. A skateboard for just € 2 per day.

From our own brand OTRO MODO you can purchase baseball caps, key rings, stickers, as well as T-shirts and hoodies made of 100% cotton. The designs are own creations and are not available in any other surf shop.

You will also find a selection of postcards that were also handcrafted and printed with motifs from the island. In our office you can also borrow magazines, use our free WiFi or watch a surf film.
A foosball table is always ready and waiting for ambitious players.

We try to get the house ready for you as soon as possible. In most cases, we do this before our guests arrive.
If we have a lot of guests on the day of arrival, we guarantee that the house will be ready for occupancy at 4:00 p.m. at the latest.

Please leave the house by 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure.
If you have a late flight, you can lock your luggage in our surf school office.

The WiFi on the upper floor is a bit weaker than the one on the ground floor.

Changes for the next day in the surf course can only be taken into account until 5:00 p.m. If you want to continue surfing after class, you can take a board and a wetsuit for the rest of the day.

On your first day of surfing you will receive a waiver from us, which you must fill out and sign.

The starting times and the group allocation for the surf courses depend on the tides,
the choice of beach and the surfing level of our guests. If you have a special wish for your division, you are welcome to express it. Important: Please note that changes to the surf course for the following day after 5 p.m. cannot be taken into account.

When you arrive, you will receive information from us as to when your surf course will start the next day. You will also find a list with the group planning for the following day in our office.

Do not forget to apply a lot of cream before your surf course, as the sun in Fuerteventura is very intense,

The yoga courses take place several times a week or on request.
Let our office staff know if you would like to take part in yoga or sign up for our yoga courses on the list (in the entrance area of our office).
If you would like to spontaneously book a yoga class, call our yoga teacher Jana or write her a WhatsApp message.

The water supply in the Canaries is scarce and expensive. The water often comes from desalination plants. Many parts of the island have no natural water sources and have to be regularly supplied with large water tanks.
Please do not use the tap water as drinking water, not even for tea or coffee!

The TV in the living room is not connected to a receiver or antenna. The TV is used to stream content from smartphones and tablets.
This is very simple:
You need the Google Home app. Apps like Netflix, Amazon Video, Sky and much more have already included it.

As soon as you have installed the Google Home app on your phone or tablet and are on our wifi, an icon will be displayed in which you will be asked whether you would like to stream your media on "Living Room Fuerteventura" on our Google Chromecast.

The TV in the bedroom is disconnected and unplugged.

Unfortunately, it can happen that individual cockroaches get lost in the house.
This is not because the house is not clean. Cockroaches are found in all warm areas without winter. They usually find their way into the house under the front door.
We have a professional cleaning company that comes in regularly to kill cockroaches. There are small brown spots with cockroach poison. These points are not dangerous to children or animals. If you see a cockroach in our house, it will likely to be already dead.

Morro Jable is a peaceful place and there is very little crime. Please close all windows and doors (don't forget the bedroom window) when you leave the house.
The large white patio door has a small pin in the middle that also locks the door.

The sun blends in the bedroom ensures pleasant temperatures in the bedroom, especially in the sunny afternoons. The shade regulates the temperature so much that you can do without air conditioning even in summer.
Don't forget to roll up the sun visor in strong winds or storms.

The parasol is very sensitive to wind. Please fold it up after each use before going to bed or when you leave the house.

The cleaning of the oven is not included in the final cleaning of the house. If the oven is very dirty, we will have to charge an additional cleaning fee.

The washing machine is already old and needs about 3 hours for whichever wash cycle. Please ask us shortly beforehand if you would like to use the washing machine, as some buttons and switches no longer work properly.

We offer you a small supporting program for your stay with us.
You can find all the information on our office door next to the surf course schedule for the next day. There you can also register yourself directly for the respective activist on the corresponding day.
Many of our activities take place in the late afternoon or in the evening after the surf course, often including dinner together.

Monday:
8:00 p.m. Dinner in the "Tapas de Miguel"

Tuesday:
20:00 theory lesson followed by dinner in the "Canaima"

Wednesday:
20:00 dinner at "La Strada"

Thursday:
20:30 sandboarding or table football tournamen

Friday
8:30 p.m. Paella (prepared privately for us by a friend from the village)

If you have a rental car, pay attention to the traffic rules, because even minor offenses can cost more than € 200 fine in Spain.
There are plenty of parking places in town. Don't park the car next to yellow lines, this can be expansive.

Fuerteventura is an ideal outdoor playground for hiking, mountain biking and other outdoor activities for example buggy, quad and enduro tours.
