Airport transfer on Fuerteventura to our Surf Villa in La Pared

Our passenger transport licences, are only valid for journeys from our guests' accommodation (for example our Surf Villa) to the beach.
On Fuerteventura, airport transfers may only be offered by licensed bus companies and taxi companies.

In the past, we ignored this prohibition. We assumed that as a small tour operator that only picks up its guests without appropriate payment, we are no competition for the established companies. As a consequence, we had to pay a fine in the mid-four-digit range after being reported to the police.

Since then, our guests have been using the many reliable transfer options offered for the way from the airport to La Pared. We have compiled the providers and schedules of the various bus transfers for you here. Depending on the provider, the airport transfer costs between 11€ and 25€ per way.

The fastest and most convenient way to get to our villa is by rental car. The best way is to rent a car from home via the internet. At the airport of Fuerteventura there are often long queues in front of the offices of the car rental companies and in the high season there is sometimes no possibility to rent a car at short notice. Of course, there are many large portals with price comparisons where you can rent a car. It is often the case that with supposedly good online offers you have to pay for additional services on site, for example the first tank of petrol or additional insurance. Or the rental station is outside the airport and you have to take a shuttle bus to the airport or be picked up from there.
Therefore, we recommend these local companies with which we have had very good experiences so far:

Cicar (https://www.cicar.com/en)
The largest car rental company in the Canary Islands. The car rental company Cicar is part of a larger chain of car shops which also includes car dealerships. The cars are therefore very often almost new. There is an office in the airport and a terminal in the car park. Service and price-performance ratio can easily keep up with big car rental companies like Europcar, Avis or Herz and are sometimes better.

It is rare to find offers that are even more favourable than those for car travel. The prices are real, because you don't have to take out additional insurance or buy the first tank of petrol on the spot. Particularly good deals are available if you rent the car for at least a week.

Auto Soto (https://autossoto.com/en/)
Auto Soto is a small car rental company based in Morro Jable. The car rental company does not have a modern online presence and is not listed on the pages of the big car rental comparison portals. Nevertheless, it is a reputable car rental company that is one of the oldest and most established on Fuerteventura.
Auto Soto is the insider tip for renting a car at short notice during the high season!
If there are no more cars available online, you can often reserve a car by phone at Auto Soto.

As you will pass some large and low priced supermarkets on the way from the airport to our surf villa, we recommend that you buy some groceries there.
There is also a small supermarket in La Pared, which is also open on Sundays. Of course, the range there is not as large and some items are not available.

In the first commercial area (Matoral) which is less than 5 minutes drive from the airport, there is a Lidl and Mercadona discount grocery store. You can get there by turning left at the roundabout in front of an IKEA.
Don't forget to buy enough water. The water from the tap in the Canary Islands often comes from desalination plants and is therefore not drinking water.

The public bus service on Fuerteventura is operated by the Tiadhe bus company. From Fuerteventura's airport to Costa Calma (approx. 50km) the bus currently costs 8€.
The bus stop for the Tiadhe bus is in front of the airport building.

Line 10 is the fastest connection from the airport to the south of Fuerteventura. This bus only stops in larger towns and it is only a few stops to Costa Calma.

If the departure time of line 10 is too far away from your arrival time at the airport, there is another connection to Costa Calma.
Take line 3 from the airport and get off at the bus terminal in Puerto del Rosario. From there, take line 1 to Costa Calma.

Our surf villa is located on the wild west coast of Fuerteventura in the small village of La Pared. This is where Fuerteventura is at its narrowest, as it is only 5 kilometres from the neighbouring village of Costa Calma to La Pared. By car, it is a good 5-minute drive from Costa Calma to La Pared. If you don't have a rental car, we recommend taking a taxi from Costa Calma to La Pared. The costs are moderate and this is the quickest way to get to our surf villa.

We recommend that you buy some food and water in one of the larger supermarkets in Costa Calma before driving to La Pared. There is also a supermarket in La Pared, but it does not have a comparable range of products.

The bus company Maxorata Bus takes package tourists from the airport to the hotels on the island. For individual tourists on Fuerteventura, this is also an option for a comfortable and cheap transfer from the airport to the accommodation.

The Maxorata bus counters on the right-hand side of the large bus park, which is located at the north end of Fuerteventura airport. As you walk from baggage claim into the airport arrivals hall, you will exit the building on the right hand side.
Tickets currently cost €11 one way from the airport to Costa Calma. Buses run from the airport to the island's hotels at all regular flight times, including late afternoon and early evening.

The quickest way to get to our surf villa is to drive to Costa Calma and take a taxi for the last five minutes to the surf villa, which will take you to the small town of La Pared on Fuerteventura's west coast.  
Therefore, choose a hotel in Costa Calma. We recommend the hotel "Fuerteventura Playa", which is located at the large roundabout at the entrance to Costa Calma. Nearby you will find a large supermarket where you can buy some food and water and of course taxis which will take you to Villa La Pared.

Select the hotel "La Pared by Playitas" from the menu. From the hotel it is a 5 minute walk through the village to our house.

For people with surfboards, families, groups and especially for late arrivals, this bus is a convenient way to get directly to La Pared without a rental car.
